The citadel is a location featured in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Located in Syria, it is explored by Nathan Drake and his friends on their search for Iram of the Pillars.
Search for the Atlantis of the Sands[]
Upon discovering Katherine Marlowe's secret library in London with Victor Sullivan and Charlie Cutter, Nate uses various objects within the library to work out that clues to the city's location lies in crusader crypts in France and in Syria. They decide that Chloe Frazer and Cutter will travel to Syria whilst Nate and Sully will investigate the French chateau.
However, the two pairs are followed by Talbot and his agents, who are already at the citadel by the time Nate and Sully arrive to help after finishing up in France. Cutter is shot by Talbot with a dart containing hallucinogens, leading to him giving Talbot both his gun and notebook. The group discover the crypt and the second half of the amulet - the first being acquired in France - and discover that the location of the next clue is in Yemen. Cutter is cornered by Marlowe and Talbot and is forced to hand over the amulet.
Nate, Sully, Chloe and Cutter escape the citadel using a tour bus, though Cutter breaks his leg in the process.
