Esteban was shown dead in The Golden Abyss, sitting on The Throne of Gold. He was found by Nathan Drake and Marisa Chase. He was shown with 16th century moorish clothing. Esteban was a Sete Cidades offering, having been murdered by Friar Marcos de Niza. He had never returned from his scouting mission in 1539 with Friar Marcos de Niza.
