The SAS - 12 is a pump-action shotgun commonly featured in the Uncharted series. In Drake's Fortune and Among Thieves it is the superior to the Moss - 12, with better range, more spread, higher rate of fire, and much higher damage. Especially the extra range and spread makes it a very powerful weapon in small quarters, with almost nothing being able to withstand a close range shot.

In Drake's Deception it is also used by enemies in Co-op Adventure. In The Lost Legacy it has been renamed the S-12 Shotgun and can only load a total of four shells.

The weapon is based on the Franchi SAS - 12, a pump-action only variant of the Franchi SPAS-12, a pump-action/semi-automatic shotgun used in military operations worldwide.

History[]

Drake's Fortune[]

The SAS - 12 is first encountered in the monastery during "Sanctuary?", used by Atoq Navarro's mercenaries. It was their preferred shotgun throughout the remainder of the mid to late game, and was also used by Eddy Raja's pirates in "The Treasure Vault". During "Gold and Bones" Nate and Sully both used SAS - 12 shotguns they took from two mercenaries when they were distracted by the descendants' appearance, with the former using it to fight his way through mercenaries and descendants alike to reach El Dorado.

Atoq Navarro had his own modified SAS - 12 in "Showdown", with an added laser sight that granted him near pin-point accuracy at any range.

Among Thieves[]

In Among Thieves it also appears for the first time in the monastery, in the namesake chapter "The Monastery". Afterwards the SAS - 12 can only be found in the chapters "Reunion" and "Broken Paradise", primarily by the armored soldiers.

Medal and trophy[]

Scoring 50 kills with the SAS - 12 will unlock the medal, worth 10 points, and bronze trophy "50 Kills: SAS - 12". Scoring 70 kills with the SAS - 12 will unlock the medal, worth $10,000, and bronze trophy "70 Kills: SAS - 12" in Among Thieves. Among Thieves Remastered instead only requires 50 kills for the trophy, of the same type, "50 kills: SAS - 12".

The same amount of kills will also unlock the bronze trophy 30 Kills: SAS - 12 in both Drake's Deception and Drake's Deception Remastered. Golden Abyss includes the same bronze trophy for 70 kills.
