Henry Avery's treasure is the entire fortune of Libertalia, all formed from the combined efforts of Henry Avery, Thomas Tew, and ten other pirate captains.
History[]
The treasure began when Henry Avery robbed the Ganj-i-Sawai, resulting in him and his crew stealing at least £600,000 in jewels and precious metals. However, after escaping the authorities, Avery wanted more. He, and a group of eleven pirate captains all came up with a plan: create a utopia for pirates to live and work together. However, the large sum of the treasure eventually led to a civil war; the founders stole the city's treasure and moved it across the island to New Devon, an extravagant and well-fortified town built for them. Libertalia descended into conflict over the treasure, with the founders killing all the colonists. In-fighting between the founders began, until they were all poisoned by Avery and Tew. Realizing that it was only a matter of time before Avery killed him as well and take all the treasure for himself, Tew and his crew battled Avery's, ending with the two of them killing each other on Avery's ship, the Fancy.
The treasure was lost forever when the arrival and battle between Nathan Drake, Samuel Drake, and Rafe Adler caused the ship to explode and sink to the bottom of the ocean. However, Sam was able to salvage some of the treasure before it went down and gave it to Nate.
