The INSAS (Indian New Small Arms System) is a weapon in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's multiplayer.

Overview

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

The INSAS is the first fully automatic rifle the player finds. It has a medium rate of fire, high damage, and replaces the AK-47 from earlier games.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

The INSAS was added to the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer in an update. It is simlar to the Lowe-S, and the HS39. It is best used at mid-long range.

Design

Though named after the INSAS AR, the standard infantry weapon of the Indian Armed Forces, the actual design of the in-game weapon is based on the Galil ARM, a superficially-similar weapon used by the Israel Defense Forces and exported to countries such as Colombia and and South Africa.

Trivia

• The real life INSAS AR is, ironically, being phased out and replaced by AK-47s and other imported rifles.
• This is the second weapon in the Uncharted series based on a version of the Galil, the first being the G-MAL from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
