Jo Braddock is the main antagonist of the Uncharted film. She works for Santiago Moncada.
History[]
There is not much information about Braddock's past, it is only known that she has been searching Magellan's treasure for a long time, at some point she and her men ambushed Sully and Sam who were also searching it. She shot Sam and believing that he died, Sully narrowly escaped.
Uncharted (film)[]
In the 2022 live-action film adaptation, Braddock is first seen along with Santiago Moncada in an auction to buy a golden cross that it's vinculated to the Magellan crew, Victor Sullivan (who has a past with her) tries to distract her so that his young protégé, Nathan Drake, can turn off the lights to allow Sully steal the cross, two of Braddock's men ambush Nathan and start a fight that scares everyone in the auction, Sully takes advantage of the situation and disguises himself as an auctioneer to take the cross but Braddock intercept him and threatens him, however both are also intercepted by the guards, they try to arrest (unsuccessfully) Braddock and Sully manages to escape with Nathan and the cross.
Braddock and Moncada are now in Barcelona to steal the cross, She kills Moncada's dad on the orders of Moncada himself, because his father considered him unworthy of inheriting the family wealth and instead he was going to donate it, meanwhile, Nate and Sully now are meeting with Chloe Frazer who has the second golden cross (and is secretly working with Moncada), Braddock and her men follows their steps to the church of Santa Maria del Pino, She tries to kill Sullivan but he leaves her unconscious and Nathan and Chloe manage to open a secret passage with the two crosses in which there is a map with the location of the treasure, however Chloe betrays the duo and knock out Nathan, taking the map with Moncada.
Treason[]
Chloe meets with Moncada and Braddock (who didn't know that she was working with her boss). The team depart in a cargo plane but Braddock betrays Moncada and kills him and order her men to execute Chloe, however the duo of Nathan and Sully managed to infiltrate the plane hiding in Moncada's car, Sully escapes with a parachute and Nathan confronts Braddock for "killing" his brother and escapes with Chloe, the map and the two crosses. A shootout happens which causes four of Braddock's men to be killed and their cargo being dropped into the sea, fortunately, Sullivan, Chloe, and Nate escape safely.
Finding the treasure and death[]
Braddock leaves the plane and sets out to find the treasure, at some point she finds Nathan (who baited Chloe, giving her the wrong location) and follows him with hope of finding the treasure, Nathan finds the two ships of Magellan that are full of gold and reunites with Sullivan who also was following him, some moments later Braddock and her mercenaries arrive, forcing the duo to hide in one of the ships.
Braddock is now transporting the treasure with two helicopters. Nathan and Sully defeat the mercenaries and hijack the helicopter, Braddock (who is in the other ship) order her men to board the ship but Nathan manages to dispatch them and shoots down the other helicopter with a cannon, however Braddock boards the ship and tries to kill Nathan. As the ship is about to fall, Nathan gets on the helicopter and Sully throws a bag full of gold at Braddock, who plunges into the sea and finally dies when the ship falls on top of her and crushes her to death.
Trivia[]
- Braddock is very similar to Nadine Ross from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. She is a leader of mercenaries working for the main antagonist. Different from the games, Braddock turns on Moncada and kills him, while Nadine leaves Rafe alive and lets him be killed by Nate in a swordfight.
- Her death is same fate as Rafe. By letting the treasure they seek crush them.
