Path of Light is the ninth chapter of Among Thieves. Nate and Chloe made their way through the temple's hidden passage after surviving a deadly spike trap, eventually entering an enormous cavernous chamber containing a gigantic Phurba, which contained a puzzle involving mirrors and beams of light.
Story[]
Nate and Chloe quickly discovered that the mirrors atop the stairs at the room's entrance could be used to redirect the light, and that the large stone faces' third eyes served as a receptacle for said light. Each face contained a lock fitted for the Phurba Nate held, which in turn caused one of the larger Phurba's blades to descend. After Nate climbed around the room and removed the stone blocking the second and third beams of light he managed, with Chloe's help, to completely lower the Phurba (although part of it did break off). Afterwards it descended into the chest of the statue on the floor, opening its mouth and revealing a ladder to a hidden room underneath, containing a large circle of stone in the center and a device in front of it.
X Marks the Spot[]
Activating the device caused the stone circle in the center of the room to rapidly rise up, revealing that each stone was a pillar fixed on an independent mechanism from one another. The pillars eventually formed part of the Himalayas, with a bright light descending from the ceiling (directly from the giant Phurba above) that pinpointed a specific spot on the topographic map. Nate recognized the mountain range, indicating to Chloe that it was identical to that of a picture in his tourist pamphlet. He marked the exact spot with a red 'X', indicating that that was the location of the entrance to Shambhala. Rejoiced, the two were about to kiss when they heard voices of Zoran Lazarević's soldiers coming from above.
Walkthrough[]
Start by adjusting the central of the three mirrors to point the beam of light at the third eye of the face on the far side of the room. Head over and insert the Phurba to cause the larger replica to lower its first blade, which you can climb. At the top you must walk across the second and then jump onto the stone face at the end of it, which causes another beam of light and a series of smaller platforms to appear. Climb over to the nearby walkway, then use the platforms to descend to the lower one to access another mirror.
Chloe will adjust the second one for you, after which you can use yours to direct the beam into the green construction hanging from the ceiling, which directs it into the second face, revealing a second lock. Said lock will lower the second blade, which you must climb, repeating your previous' actions so far. While halfway across the third blade it will collapse, although Nate barely manages to hang on. At this point the only thing you can do is shoot the third eye on the larger statue's forehead nearby, which causes it to break open manually.
Nate will land on the second green construction, allowing you to jump to the nearby walkway. Use the nearby mirror to direct the final beam into the construction, then turn the third lock to finish the light puzzle. Return to Chloe and head down the floor statue's throat to enter another hidden room. In here, activate the device nearby the entrance to start a cutscene, after which the chapter ends and continues into "Only One Way Out".
