Santiago Moncada was the secondary antagonist of the Uncharted film. He was a Spanish aristocrat belonging to the House of Moncada, which was one of the most influential families in the history of Spain and he owned a financial company.

History[]

Santiago Moncada was a member of the Moncada family. This family had funded Maggellan's expedition and therefore claims the right to Maggellan's lost treasure. The search for the lost treasure has already caused much bloodshed. Moncada hired Jo Braddock and their mercenaries to help him achieve his goals. Without Braddock's knowledge he also hired Chloe Frazer.

New York[]

Moncada attended an auction to achieve a golden cross that is a key to the location of Maggellan's lost treasure. He met Nate at the showcase where the cross is displayed and told him that his family had been looking for it for a very long time and that many men died trying to get hold on to it. During the auction, Moncada is outbid again and again by Sully who tried to buy Nate time to turn off the lights. When Nate is ambushed by Braddock's men, he causes a diversion which enables Sully to steal the cross.

Barcelona[]

In Barcelona, Moncada rebuked his father for wanting to donate the family inheritance to charity. When his father does not listen to him, Moncada had Braddock kill him. After Braddock fails to get the cross back and tells Moncada that the treasure is not in Barcelona and that the clue to its true location has been found by Chloe Frazer and that her people are now looking for her, Frazer appears and brings Moncada the treasure map. Moncada revealed to Braddock that he had hired Frazer the same day he hired her and that Frazer will from now on lead the operation. The map shows that the treasure is hidden in the Philippines.

Cargo plane[]

Moncada, Frazer and Braddock with her mercenaries board a cargo plane to take them to the Philippines. Moncada also had his luxury car brought on board. During the flight, Braddock killed Moncada, slitting his throat.
