Shambhala, also known as Shangri-La by many, is a mythical city hidden in the Himalayas. Despite its location, the city climate of the city is different from the world outside, which is more similar to a rain forest instead, which is no wonder that it was known as an earthly paradise. The legendary Cintamani Stone was to be hidden in here and psychopathic war criminal Zoran Lazarevic and his army of wild Merceneries were on a trail to find the stone, which would grant him and his army unstoppable power. Nathan Drake raced to find the hidden city in order to find and destroy the stone during Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Zoran and Nate both find the hidden city at the same time, and Nate is left to fight through power hungry soldiers and super powered Guardians in order to get to the stone before Zoran. Nate discovers that Marco Polo, who set out to find the stone had gotten it wrong, that the stone was fossilized resin and the real power came from tree sap. Zoran consumed the sap and gained legendary powers, but was weakened by Nate in a final showdown and killed by the Guardians, who along with Zoran were crushed by the city's rubble after its destruction at Nate's hands.
