The Wes - 44 is the standard magnum pistol revolver featured in the Uncharted series. As it is a revolver it only has six rounds, but the very high damage, rate of fire, and accuracy make up for its low ammo count. It is often used by Victor Sullivan, and also wielded by some of Eddy Raja's pirates in Drake's Fortune. It is at first rarely found, but later on the armored pirates that normally use the Moss - 12 shotgun can sometimes be seen carrying the Wes - 44. Due to the guns power and range they make a high priority target.
It is based on the Smith & Wesson Model 629 Classic (8 3/8 inch barrel) .44 Magnum, first introduced in 1955.
The Wes - 44 is not available in the Among Thieves multiplayer, as Naughty Dog said that it was "unbalanced and too similar" to the Desert - 5 for the game.
Medals and trophies
Scoring 20 kills with the Wes - 44 will unlock the medal, worth 10 points, and bronze trophy "20 Kills: Wes - 44" in Drake's Fortune. Scoring 30 kills with the Wes - 44 will unlock the medal, worth $10,000, and bronze trophy "30 Kills: Wes - 44" in Among Thieves and Among Thieves Remastered. Golden Abyss also features an identical bronze trophy.
