The Wes-44 is the standard magnum pistol in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. It is the weapon of choice for Victor Sullivan. It is a very classical weapon, first introduced in 1955.

The Wes-44 is a rare weapon to be found. A Wes-44 is available at the beginning of some checkpoints, usually hidden well. It also doesn't carry much ammo and few enemies carry this weapon. However, it kills with a single shot and the firing rate is acceptable. If the player wishes to use this weapon, concentration is required, since missing is a much more terrible waste than missing with the standard pistols. This weapon may be preferable in a long range battle, since one hit killing with it can be much easier than lesser pistols which must perform a headshot. It can be found more frequently if you use stealth takedowns.
The Wes-44 is not available in multiplayer because Naughty Dog said that it was unbalanced and too similar to the Desert-5 for the game.
In Uncharted 3, the Wes-44 can only be used in singleplayer in one scene in Chapter 6 and chapter 12 if you use stealth very well at the scene Drake is going to fight with guns. It can also be found in Co-Op Adventure, ie: behind the waterfall in the last area of Chapter 1: Borneo, or on the machinery in the middle of the pond before reaching the camp. As well as the area after the bridge on the ledge on the fallen log.
